Uuumm! When you hold down the left CTRL key all the local bad guys names are visible. To call a target you can use either CTRL - spacebar or CTRL double click.

To cycle through targets, push tab, to cycle through players in city push tab also. This comes in handy when you want to find your friends or specific monsters.

On the subject of target calling, what is the general consenus (if there is one)on which type of charcter is best for this?
Melee characters are sometimes too involved in the fight to have a good view of the entire battlefield, but they have the advantage of being close to the target as they call it. The problem I see here is that sometimes the melee characters end up out of healing range if they get too far ahead of the backline by calling a target that is within their range, but not that of the casters. Ranged players are in a position to call targets that are still within range of the healers, but then the melle characters have to run to the target. What do you guys think is best? I've practiced target calling a bit in PvE using both melee and ranged characters, and the only conclusion I have been able to draw is a rather basic one: Monks have no business calling targets. Other than that, I see upsides and downsides to both approaches. |

Calling targets don't necessary mean attacking, it just means cycling through to see whats ahead, then if you're out numbered draw then in small groups and you can "divide and conquer".

Personally, I think ranged and casters are better target callers. This is because, when a certain target is called while the team is still a distant away, the ranged players are already able to do damage. Once the melee gets there, the enemy won't be at full strength thus making the job a little easier for them.

Personally I think Mesmers make good callers because they can call target then debuff the target for the warriors.

I advise you always get someone that has range to call targets. I personally think Rangers are the best because they can get into the fray quite well, are offesnively based, and have the range to begin the onslaught.
Anyway... once you press TAB to cycle targets and find the best one to slaughter, press ctrl+space. this message will appear... "Weezer Blue is attacking Random Enemy. Press T to select his target!" Pressing T would select my target. Not begin attacking. You would then press T (or use a skill) to initiate attacks. pretty much, ctrl+ anything does something. for instance, if you do ctrl+clickyourexp.bar, it will say "Weezer Blue is __ and __ percent to level __" |

"<some name> is targetting <some enemy>. Press T to select his target!" Very handy, we use it all the time when approaching a group of MOBs to show which one we will concentrate our initial attack on (Usually the spellcaster MOB's to keep them from healing)... Jhaerel |

i dont think anyone is the best type of character. generally we will decide (if im in a group that also uses targets that is) who should call them, then decide on the order (eg boss > healer > ranged > melee) or whatever. That way you don't get two people calling different targets, each of those two swapping to the OTHER persons target and the rest of the group wondering which to attack
